Black Sand Beach

Just down the road we have a black sand beach.    When the sand is dry, it's sort of a dark gray.  You don't really even notice the color.  But when it's wet it is jet-black!  The kids look like they've been covered in tar when they roll around in the sand.  It is really beautiful with a little bit of a sparkle.  The sand isn't a very fine grit so it easily rinses off in the water.  I just love how strange and pretty it is.
